LADAKH

There are few places left in the world like ladakh. It lies in the great Himalayan rain shadow, so receives no monsoon during the summer, but hafty snowfall.

The magnificent western Himalayas have a unique place in the history and legend of India. In legends and myths they are the abode of gods of the Hindu mythology. Ladakh has been termed as Western Tibet by many historians and travel writers. There are more than 25 monasteries in Leh district itself. Hemis is the biggest and famous.

 For trekking purpose the region is divided into three - Kargil, Indus Valley and Zanskar.

KARGIL : This area lies just behind the Zoji La Pass, and its center is Argil, a small town with streets surrounded by apricot groves. The trek to Rangdum and Hemiskot through Kanji La Pass (5,270 M) offers the fine view of the Karakoram and other Ladakh ranges.

INDUS VALLEY :  Hemis National Park is one of the largest protected area in the entire Himalayan snow.

ZANSKAR : One of the remote region of Northern Himalayas, 300Kms long valley ringed by mountains and only accessible by passes. Here one can experience the real traditional village life with its hallmark of self-sufficiency.
