Born and brought up in the hills of Central Himalayas, C.S.Pandey (Chander Shekher Pandey) completed his education in Delhi. During his education period he was always active in promoting adventure sports among the students. Besides several Degrees and Diplomas in Management and Public Administration and Leadership, he has also participated inZenger Miller USA based Management Training.
The background of Himalayan life gave him very considerable influence in exploration field, especially in mountaineering, trekking and adventure activities. He is qualified in advance mountaineering course and led more then 70 successful mountaineering and high attitude trekking expeditions to Indian Himalayas, which include a successful solo climbing to Mount Abhigamin (24130M) and Bharatkunta (21708M).
He is famous among foreign mountaineers and obtained high grade awards in rock climbing. ice and snow craft from OWBS.
He is the founder of various adventure associations and at present advisor to various adventure organizations/clubs in Delhi and outside.
He helped Ministry of Sports, Govt. of India and Delhi Doordarshen for making adventure documentary films. He also started leadership-training program for voluntary organization for Indian youths. Besides introducing and developing annual multi-day stage race and marathon in Indian Hamalayas. He has organized the first direct trek between Badrinath to Kedarnath in 1998.
Being a renowned adventurer he had a prevailed of attending breakfast meeting with Hon'ble late Prime Ministers Mrs.Indira Gandhi and Mr.Rajiv Gandhi. Also obtained certificate of best administrator and organizer of Mountaineering Activities by RC, Delhi University.
He is very much interested in social activities and always keep close contact with young generation and gives hand to come them up in adventure field.
He is the Organizer and Race Director of many International running and biking events in Indian Himalayas including the world famous annual events - Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race and Mt.Everest Challenge Marathon, the first Eco-friendly sports event in the world and rated with AAA Grade.
His name and activities appear regularly in various national / International magazines / news papers and general knowledge books.
